Cecile Wesolowski

Artist of the strangeness, Cecile Wesolowski express herself through the hyperreality and “the simulation of something that never really existed” (Cf. Jean Baudrillard). Humor, kitsch, overproduction, accumulation, excess, handling of information, women’s image and pop-culture play the lead roles. The way she in which she keeps a staggered position while using humor, cloud the borders of the imagination, seduction and brutality. Her videos mostly explore female characters in playful situations referring to cinema history, soap opera, tv, internet, social media and self-production.
