In her artistic work, Marlet Heckhoff deals with traces of human civilisation. In an urban setting, she searches for remains and signs of what has happened there, such as industrial buildings, harbours and construction sites. Everything that shows its own structure is interesting and can be a starting point for a new painting.
However, not only big architecture can be inspiration – also little daily things like chaos in the corner of the studio or on the kitchen table – can lead to a new artwork.
