Yoh Nagao is pop collage artist from Japan.
His style is mix of acrylic painting and collage. He collects collage materials mainly from fashion magazines, and then paints them with many layers of vibrant colors.
In his art, collage composes the shape of humans, animals, and landscapes. By adding painting he expresses energy, pleasure, love and other emotions. This combination is influenced by pop culture and ethnology from Japan and all over the world.
In this modern society, Nagao is concerned about us as well as the future. Despite modern civilizations and technological developments, we are still greatly influenced by war, sickness, the environment, pollution. Sadly this world is losing its balance. One day humankind will collapse if the situation continues the same way.
However, even in such a desperate situation, Nagao believes that art can change our world for better place. You can find this positive and powerful essence and message in his art. It is his mission as an artist.
