b 1978 Constanta, Romania. Lives and works in Leipzig, Germany.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Material and spiritual change, perception of time, life and death, origin and arrival, selfquestioning, femininity and history, tradition, faith and modernity are topics I explore dealing with human existence. Reflecting the unconsciuous, my work aims to transform the familiar image of order, dimension, space or time into iconographic images. They are mystical “newly created realities” in between conscious and unconscious, subjective and objective, circumstantial and eternal. Through an old-masterly execution my portraits, still lifes, interiors, scenes or landscapes play with quotations, signs and symbolism in a contemporary and personal interpretation. Mixed media, installations, objects or video works occasionally strengthen my painting projects.
