Sonja Blattner

My paintings are about houses, structures that seem thrown out of kilter, hovering over the ground. They combine unorthodox constructions and colorings with surreal elements. I´m interested in what lurks behind the facade-what I sense the house reveal.: The fate of their erectors and former residents as well as a glimpse into the state of the neighborhood. Based on a mix of research and projection the houses are portraits both of the state and soul of society.
